Geology Building

THHC will provide a venue for all to witness the geological history of New York State, specifically the Adirondacks, Catskills and Mohawk regions. Visitors will see the changes in the landscape brought about by human choices over the last centuries and find out what influenced these changes.  Children will enjoy a “fossil dig”.

All will enjoy the displays of solar and wind power (old and new), as well as the use of water wheels, grist mills and windmills. A geologic display suitable for high school classes (Earth Science) will display igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks and be enhanced by geologic maps of the area. Geologic talks will lay out what can be seen in drives around the region. Books on geology and geomorphology of the area will be here.
